new contract for garbage and recycling services begins april 1
Beginning April 1, 2024, the City will begin a new contract for once-a-week garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection with Recology King County for City customers. This transition marks an exciting development in our community's efforts toward sustainable waste management practices.
Recology is an established provider serving 11 cities in the region. The decision to select Recology as the City’s new garbage collection provider follows a rigorous procurement process conducted in 2022 and facilitated by Epicenter Services, where Recology emerged as the preferred choice based on its solid performance in contract compliance, customer service, community outreach, and education.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this transition period. To view the City’s Public Notice of a rate increase, visit the Public Notices section of the City website, or check out the February 2 edition of the Snoqualmie Valley Record.
The City of North Bend will continue their contract with Republic Services for once-a-week garbage, recycling, and yard waste services through March 31, 2024. Beginning April 1, 2024, services will go through Recology King County.
