Shoreline Access and Trail Plan Workshop: Shorelines from the Middle and South Fork Snoqualmie River make up a special part of our community, and on Wednesday, February 26, we invite you to join city staff and the City’s consultant, Facet, for a public workshop to discuss the new North Bend Shoreline Public Access and Trail Plan!
The Shoreline Public Access and Trail Plan is a project that, once complete, will share a cohesive network of access points and trails, with the goal of enhancing recreation opportunities for residents and visitors while protecting the shoreline from recreational use impacts and degradation. The Workshop will be located at the North Bend City Hall, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
This project is a result of a Shoreline Public Access and Trail Plan Project grant by the Department of Ecology. The grant works to support planning and planning related efforts that advance climate resilience, improve the implementation of Shoreline Master Program (SMP), and support local shoreline planning priorities. To learn more about this project and the shoreline, visit the City’s SMP webpage.
Of note, the workshop will be immediately followed by a separate public workshop also at City Hall, planning for a public plaza at the terminus of Ballarat Avenue between the North Bend Bar and Grill and the North Bend Shell Station, which will run from 7:00 p.m. to 8 p.m.
For questions, updates, and more information, please contact Senior Planner Jamie Burrell by phone, at (425) 888-7642, or by email, at jburrell@northbendwa.gov.
Ballarat Plaza Workshop: Join us for a workshop that will review and gather feedback to enhance and potentially transform a portion of roadway on Ballarat Avenue. Located near the North Bend Train Depot, between the North Bend Bar and Grill (145 E North Bend Way) and the North Bend Shell Station (225 E North Bend Way), the Ballarat Plaza Workshop will present conceptual plans that could transform this roadway into a landscaped gathering plaza area.
Meet at the North Bend City Hall on Wednesday, February 26, from 7 to 8 p.m.
City staff and the City’s consultant on the project, Site Workshop, look forward to sharing a variety of concepts, including:
- Pavers
- Mountain viewing, with a permanent telescope installation
- Landscaping
- Vegetated screening from vehicles on North Bend Way
- Pedestrian lighting
- Fixed seating
- Mobile seating
- Water feature
- Small community stage
