Meet up with the Mayor Next Week, for Coffee and a Chat: On Wednesday, May 18th at 10:30 a.m., community members are invited to join North Bend Mayor Rob McFarland for a cup of coffee at Arete Coffee Bar, located at 112 West Second Street. Bring your questions and chat over coffee and snacks with Mayor Rob. This casual setting provides the perfect opportunity to get to know your mayor while discussing city-related topics that are important to you. 

The Spirit of Volunteerism is Strong in North Bend: The NBDF Wants to Meet You!  Residents stopped by Volition Brewing for snacks, beverages and community collaboration on Tuesday, May 10th at the North Bend Downtown Foundation (NBDF)’s Volunteer Open House. The NBDF is excited to meet more community members interested in events, beautification, economic development and more! Learn about the NBDF HERE

Mayor McFarland Proclaims May 8 – 14 Affordable Housing Week: At the May 3rd North Bend City Council meeting, Mayor Rob proclaimed May 8 - 14, 2022, as Affordable Housing Week in North Bend. All people should have access to safe, healthy and affordable homes within communities that provide opportunity. Read his proclamation HERE.

Special Recycling Event: May 14thNorth Bend Yard Waste Recycling Event: May 21stThe City of North Bend and the Snoqualmie Tribe’s annual spring Special Recycling Event happens Saturday, May 14th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Snoqualmie Middle School (SMS), 9200 Railroad Ave SE. This year’s event also includes free giveaways with a limited number of prizes for attendees. 

The next 2022 North Bend Yard Waste Recycling program is set for Saturday, May 21st. This annual recycling program is open to North Bend residents and property owners on select Saturdays, April through October, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the North Bend Public Works building, located at 1155 E. North Bend Way. 

Public Hearing Date for Formation of Meadowbrook Sewer ULID Set for May 17On April 5th, 2022, the North Bend City Council unanimously approved a resolution to set a Public Hearing date for the formation of the Meadowbrook Sewer Utility Local Improvement District (ULID). The resolution sets the Public Hearing date for May 17th, 2022 and will accept public comments by interested parties, including property owners within the ULID boundary. 

The public hearing will be held during the regular City Council meeting, which will begin at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be in-person, with a hybrid participation option to occur by Zoom video conferencing. View the Public Hearing Notice HERE

Trail Closure Alert: Tollgate Farm Park Loop: A portion of the Tollgate Farm Park loop trail is temporarily closed, as Si View Metropolitan Parks District commences work to build a barn, parking area and realign ingress/egress as part of the Tollgate Park Agricultural Development.

Plan for Delays On I-90 from North Bend to Ellensburg for Summer ConstructionCross-state travelers may need to add extra travel time to their trips this summer and fall. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and crews will be busy improving multiple sections of I-90, from North Bend to Ellensburg.
