The Transportation Benefit District No.1 (TBD) is a seven-member board comprised of City Council members. It was established citywide by the City Council with the passage of Ordinance 1436 on July 19, 2011. The TBD authorized submission of a proposition for a sales and use tax at a rate of 0.2% to be used exclusively for identified transportation improvements, which was passed in the November 2011 general election.
The TBD determined that it was important to propose transportation improvements that focus on both the residential and commercial sectors of the community. The specific TBD Improvements to be financed with proceeds of the sales and use tax consist of projects, described in detail within the City’s Six-Year (2020-2025) Transportation Improvement Plan.
