Citizens Academy

The City of North Bend is pleased to host the 2026 Citizens Academy course this winter, from February 2 through March 30, with a recognition event completing the series on April 7, 2026. This free, eight-week interactive course is designed to provide an in-depth look into how your local municipal government operates.

As of December 1, 2025, registration for the 2026 course is full.

Citizens Academy FULL

Citizens Academy participants: 

  • Learn more about the City of North Bend government operations and services
  • Join in dialogues with city leaders, city staff, and other civic-minded residents
  • See taxpayers’ investments at work
  • Learn about opportunities to become more involved in your local government

We will guide 25 participants through various aspects of city operations, including administration and city history, legal, public records and information, finance, fire, police, parks, public works, infrastructure, emergency management, and community and economic development. While sessions will be held at North Bend City Hall, look forward to parks tours, an Eastside Fire and Rescue tour and a tour of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Citizens Academy Schedule

Courses run from February through March, with a break in February during the Snoqualmie Valley School District's mid-winter break, and a recognition event in April.

  1. Complete your application HERE
  2. Once complete, submit your applicationin one of the following ways:
    1. Email bkeveren@northbendwa.gov  
    2. Mail: Attn: Bre Keveren, 920 SE Cedar Falls Way, North Bend, WA 98045 
    3. Drop off a printed copy to City Hall, located at 920 SE Cedar Falls Way
  3. Confirmation upon approval, should a spot open up: Wait to receive your confirmation and welcome email.
