Public Works Standards

At the Sept. 18, 2018 Council meeting, the Council passed Ordinance 1666 adopting the very first set of Public Works standards in City history. Public Works Standards govern the construction of both privately financed public improvements, private improvements, and a city’s capital improvement projects such as roads, sidewalks, utilities, etc.

Recently, the City has been experiencing significant development and growth, creating a need for a stand-alone manual that allows Public Works Department staff engineers and inspectors to more easily regulate design and inspect construction in North Bend’s best interests for life safety, public health, general welfare, function, fire protection, appearance and maintainability.

The PWS will be the City’s road and utilities developmentguide for the next decade and beyond.
