Transportation Element Overview
The Transporation Element of the North Bend Comprehensive Plan provides a framework to guide transportation investments over the next 20 years in accordance with the community’s vision and goals. The Transportation Element includes short- and long-range strategies, such as programs, policies, and project recommendations, that advance the development of an integrated, multimodal transportation system in North Bend.
An up-to-date Transportation Element plays a vital role in maintaining the City’s eligibility for future grant funding and identifies the future transportation system necessary to accommodate the growth and development of North Bend. Included in the Transportation Element is:
- An inventory of transportation facilities and traffic forecasts based on the City’s 20-year growth projection.
- Levels of service standards for vehicles as well as bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
- Policies guiding the development of transportation facilities and serving as a basis for transportation-related development regulations in the municipal code and Public Works Standards.
- Recommended transportation improvements necessary to maintain adopted levels of service.
